The Parish Church of Santo Estevâo
The Igreja Matriz de Santo Estêvão is located in the former parish of Santo Estêvão (currently the Union of Parishes of Luz de Tavira and Santo Estêvão), in the city of Tavira. The date of its construction is not certain, but this church originates from a medieval hermitage. In the 18th century, around 1707, it was ordered to be rebuilt by Bishop D. António Pereira da Silva. In the 19th century, the main façade was remodeled, with the main portal dating back to 1903.

With a single nave, the church has a chancel and four side chapels. The main chapel's altarpiece, designed by José da Costa, features the church's patron saint, Saint Estêvão, and marbled paintings, using the trompe-l'oeil technique.
